CDM Methodologies Panel

The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Executive Board (EB) is currently inviting experts to submit their application for consideration as members of the CDM Methodologies Panel, Afforestation and/or Reforestation - and Small Scale -Working Group. THe invitations are posted on the UNFCCC CDM web-site and are open from 01 March 2006 to 12 April 2006 (17.00 GMT).

The candidate panel member shall:
(a) Demonstrate relevant working epxerience of at least five years, or scientific knowledge, on methodological issues related to project-based mechanisms and/or afforestation and reforestation (A&R) project-based mechanisms and/or small-scale project activities in non-Annex I Parties;
(b) Demonstrate technical, scientific expertise, inter alia through publications, in at least one of the following areas:
(i) Baseline and/or monitoring methodologies and/or for A&R project activites and/or at least one of the three small-scale criteria defined in paragraph 6 (c) or decision 17/CP.7;
(ii) Project activity implementation and/or of A&R project activities, including monitoring and verification;
(c) Have excellent drafting skills, strong operational and analytical skills, and ability to work as a member of a team;
(d) Have an advanced university degree in econoimcs, energy, forestry, social, environmental studies, natural sciences, engineering, development studties, or any related discipline.
