5th EcoBalance Conference

Call for Papers and Invitation to 5th International Conference on EcoBalance
November 6-8, 2002, in Tsukuba, Japan.

The organizers of the 2002 EcoBalance conference are pleased to invite all ISIE members to participate in the 5th EcoBalance conference which will be held in cooperation with ISIE. There will be a discounted registration fee for all ISIE members as well as a special session (S5) titled, “Industrial ecology / Sound energy and material cycles” which is intended to be a forum for an exchange of information and ideas among ISIE members.

The deadline for abstract submission is March 15. If you are interested in presenting a paper, please see the conference website, http://www.sntt.or.jp/ecobalance/ for additional details. While we encourage you to submit an abstract for the special session on industrial ecology, we are also pleased to accept abstracts for any of the other sessions on topics such as LCA, LCM, performance indicators, product information, Eco-design, Eco-materials, and others.

While in the past the Ecobalance Conference has focused on LCA and its applications, we are excited to let you know that the 2002 conference will cover a much broader array of topics in the field of Industrial Ecology. We are looking forward to meeting many of you in Tsukuba.
