ISIE South Korea
June 25-28, 2013 Ulsan South Korea

The next in the ISIE’s series of biennial conferences will be held in June 2013 at the University of Ulsan, South Korea.  In addition to the four-day conference, there will be activities organised by ISIE’s Subject Sections and Student Chapter on June 24th and 29th.

Ulsan is a city of about 1.1 million people on the East Coast of South Korea.  It is one of the best examples of the amazing development of South Korea.  The city is home to Hyundai (ship building and automobiles), the SK refinery and petrochemicals complex, and has a large and developing Eco-Industrial Park (EIP). A tour of the EIP will form part of the conference events.  Ulsan is also remarkable for the excellent quality of its air and of the river which flows through the city.  It is surrounded by forested mountains with walking trails and some notable archaeological sites.

Ulsan is about two hours by fast train from Seoul (which is the natural entry point from Europe and North America) and about an hour by road from Busan (with flights from other parts of Asia).  The conference organisers will be providing assistance with transfers and ground travel.

The ISIE Conference will be held at the newly completed International Hall of the University, with all technical and poster sessions and workshops in the same building.  Accommodation for students (and anyone else seeking low-cost accommodation) will be available in a hall-of-residence adjacent to International Hall.

The Call for Abstracts can be found here.
